The CHC50113 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care has no direct entry requirements however it is important to note that this qualification includes a number of units that are also in the Certificate III program. Therefore some students choose to complete the Certificate III program prior to the Diploma. In addition to the physical, emotional and learning development of babies, children and toddlers, this qualification will also enable you to work effectively as a team leader/supervisor in a regulated care environment. All Centres must ensure that a percentage of employed staff hold this Diploma so this qualification will likely assist you with your career development.

Course Information

This qualification is available for direct entry. This means that you do not need to be currently working in the industry or hold a particular qualification to gain entry.

Students enrolling into the Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care must also agree to meet the following requirements:

  • obtain and provide a valid and current child related employment screening clearance
  • undertake and successfully complete 240 work placement/assessment hours with a Time approved/provided work placement within an appropriate regulated education and care service (e.g: long-day care, child care centre)

Available under a contract of training.

Program Commences on the 13th of February.

To achieve the Diploma in Early Childhood Education & Care a total of 28 units must be completed made up of twenty three (23) core units and five (5) elective units.
