The SIR40316 Certificate IV in Retail Management is designed to develop retail management skills and knowledge. Students wishing to undertake this qualification must be able to demonstrate prior retail supervision experience. People management skills development is core to this qualification and candidates can select a range of electives that can develop your client relationship management skills, in shop or e-business marketing, general business management and human resource management. Employers wishing to develop high achieving supervisors into capable managers should consider this program.
In the event there is no public program commencing, this qualification can be delivered via Distance Education with support from a Facilitator. Some classroom based or work placement commitments may be required.

Course Information

This qualification is suitable for an Australian Apprenticeship pathway but is not appropriate for VET in Schools delivery.

To undertake this qualification, individuals will have previous retail supervisory experience in roles such as:

  • customer service
  • supervising work teams and employee relations
  • sales performance
  • store safety and security

After achieving this qualification, individuals may undertake SIR50116 Diploma of Retail Leadership.

Available under a contract of training.

Qualification Requirements

To achieve a Certificate IV in Retail Management a total of eleven (11) units of competency must be completed, made up of seven (7) core units and four (4) elective units.
