Upgrade to TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
The new Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) have been designed with a focus on quality outcomes for learners and industry. This includes ensuring that those delivering and assessing are adequately “qualified, skilled and committed to professional development” and that they have “current skills and knowledge in training and assessment.” If you’re looking to upgrade your skills and knowledge the Upgrade to TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment program can help you.
While it is not currently mandatory for Facilitators to hold the TAE40122 version of the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, upgrading to this qualification will assist participants and their employers in providing evidence of meeting the new Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs). It will also provide an opportunity to refresh and develop your knowledge and skills in this area.

Program Outline
This qualification comprises of twelve (12) units – six (6) core units and six (6) elective units.
The way in which participants upgrade to the TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment can look different from person to person, depending on what they have done previously. However, Time Education & Training have designed an upgrade program that provides for the needs of all, while also providing the flexibility to accommodate individuals. We’ve also designed our program based on extensive industry consultation, and the current and emerging needs of stakeholders within the Vocational Education and Training sector.
Our upgrade program also includes those aspects that we are well known for – class-based learning, quality training, and access to student support.
What do I need before I start?
Entry to this program is limited to those who hold either of the following:
- TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment; or
- TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, plus TAEASS502 Design and develop assessment tools and TAELLN411 Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills
