What began as an idea on the coffee table in the Adelaide Hills, Time Education & Training has since grown to become one of the largest privately owned RTOs in the state. One that is nationally scoped and renowned for setting the bar of what quality training should be.
The History of both Time and VET
1995 – VET
Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) is introduced.
1998 – TIME
H.R.D. – Heidt Resource Development becomes a Registered Training Organisation delivering four qualifications. A key one being the Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training.
1998 – VET
Australian Government launches the National Training Information Service (NTIS) with the aim of creating a central place for training packages, qualifications, courses and Registered Training Organisations. Australian Government also launches User Choice, a policy for governing public funds for training provided through the VET sector and with approved RTOs.
2000 – TIME
H.R.D. Resources partners with corporate training business, Godwin & Associates.
2001 to 2003 – VET
2001: The Australian Quality Training Framework – a set of nationally agreed quality assurance arrangements – is established.
2003: Introduction of Industry Skills Councils as part of the restructuring of the national industry training arrangements.
2004 – TIME
RTO name changes to T.I.M.E. Pty Ltd – Training, Innovation, Management and Enterprise Pty Ltd. Scope of registration continues to expand, including the Diploma of Training and Assessment.
2005 – TIME
T.I.M.E. Pty Ltd moves to facilities in Wayville.
2007 – TIME
T.I.M.E. Pty Ltd outgrows its facilities and moves to Marleston.
2008 – VET
Council of Australian Governments (COAG) initiates major reforms to increase participation in VET, particularly for higher level qualifications.
2009 – TIME
Our scope of registration grows to cover seven training packages.
2011 to 2012 – VET
2011: NTIS is replaced by TGA – training.gov.au – our current national register for VET in Australia. National Vocational Education and Training Regulator Act 2011 is passed, the VET Quality Framework (VQF) is introduced, and the national regulator, Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA), is founded.
2012: Australian Core Skills Framework is introduced.
2013 – TIME
T.I.M.E. Pty Ltd outgrows Marleston site and begins leasing additional venue space.
2013 – VET
Core Skills for Work Framework is introduced.
2014 – TIME
T.I.M.E. Pty Ltd moves to its state-of-the-art facilities in Mile End. Our services expand to include consultancy for other RTOs, assisting them to be compliant and to prepare for audits.
2014 – VET
Council of Australian Governments (COAG) Industry and Skills Council agrees to new regulatory standards.
2015 – TIME
RTO name is changed to Time Education & Training.
2015 – VET
The Standards for RTOs (2015) legislation is released. VET sector is the first to introduce the new Unique Student Identifier (USI) – a registration and identification system designed for students undertaking any nationally recognised education and training.
2020 – TIME
Time Education & Training pivots and expands to assist government, employers and students as training becomes a key response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
2020 – VET
As a response to the Covid-19 pandemic, significant funding is directed to education and training within the VET sector to assist workers, employers and industries navigate the uncertainty.
2021 – TIME
Our training facilities in Mile End are expanded to include an additional wing of training rooms.
2022 – TIME
Expansion into the neighbouring building allows for the opening of our dedicated Aged Care, Disability & Health training facilities – including an extensive Simulated
Home/Practical Skills Lab.
Teko arrives.
2023 – TIME
Time Education & Training is the first RTO in Australia to be approved for the new version of the Diploma of Vocational Education & Training.
2024 – VET
Revised Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) is released ready for implementation in 2025.
