Diploma of Work Health and Safety
The Diploma of Work Health and Safety is designed to assist you in taking your Work Health and Safety career to the next level. It recognises that moving from a safety role into a safety management position requires additional skills and knowledge. This qualification applies to supervisors and managers who apply a substantial knowledge base and well-developed skills in a wide variety of Work Health and Safety contexts
SA Government Subsidy
This qualification is not currently on the SA Government subsidy list.

Units of competency
The BSB51319 Diploma of Work Health and Safety comprises of ten (10) units – five (5) core units and five (5) elective units.
Entry requirements for this qualification include all core units in the BSB41419 Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety, or its predecessors to the following units which have been mapped as equivalent:
- BSBWHS513 Lead WHS risk management
- BSBWHS515 Lead initial response to and investigate WHS incidents
- BSBWHS516 Contribute to developing, implementing and maintaining an organisation’s WHS management system
- BSBWHS519 Lead the developmentand use of WHS risk management tools
- BSBWHS522 Manage WHS consultation and participation processes
Possible Pathways
Further training pathways from this qualification include the BSB50420 Diploma of Leadership and Management.
