Introducing Jenny Baber

Jenny’s career has been varied and eclectic, covering multiple industries in a variety of organisations including government, charity, and small and medium sized businesses.

Jenny began in an admin role with ETSA within the Substation Department before moving into payroll. She then moved to the Telecommunications Department where she was responsible for PABX programming and coordinating the telephony office installations throughout the state. From there she became an Account Manager, liaising between the engineering and technical staff and the major functions of the organisation.

Her career then pivoted to the shopfitting industry where she coordinated trades for fitouts in shopping centres and malls, as well as liaising with centre managements and various stakeholders within the construction industry.

Taking another turn, Jenny then moved into the book industry becoming a Children’s Book Specialist for a group of bookshops. There she was responsible for meeting publishers each month, developing and coordinating the school and library program, and coordinating author events. During this time she also became a published author and spent time as a Dramaturg for a local theatre company.

Jenny’s next move was becoming the Volunteer Coordinator for the Vinnies SA shops, St Vincent de Paul Society. During this time she worked with a team that opened/renovated 16 stores around the state, helping to significantly increase the level of support and assistance that could be offered to those in need.

Joining Time Education & Training in 2018, her decision to move into the Vocational Education and Training industry became a way to pull her background together along with her passion for building community and developing people. This variety of experience, mixed with having lived in the city and regionally, puts her in good stead to understand the breadth of needs, challenges and opportunities for the clients she works with.
