Introducing Teko
Teko is our student support partner at Time Education & Training.
Teko joined our family here at Time Education & Training four years ago, and is John and Diane’s full-time family member.
Before starting with us, Teko was a Guide Dog for a person with blindness and served that person for almost six years before being retired and available for a “career change”. John and Diane applied to be the new family for a retired guide dog and were thrilled to be selected to welcome her into their home and work family.
Teko is a much-loved member of the Time family and is popular with students and visitors. She can detect clients / students who may be somewhat anxious about starting their training and is more than happy to sit with them for emotional support.
One lovely client was very apprehensive about starting a program, however, wasn’t prepared to share her concerns with us before they started. Teko stood at the door of that class on the first day, took a minute to take it all in and walked over to this client and sat down next to them. That client had a great first day and on return to their workplace was “over the moon” that Teko was here to support her. Well done Teko – Good Job!
Many of our clients and learners ask for Teko when they are in the learning centres, and will want her to come in and see them. Unfortunately, they also like to secretly feed her which has created a sneaky little increase in her weight, but we’re working on that.
